San Francisco Chronicles- Day Four (As The World Turns)

If you think Ive failed to update these past few days because I've been too busy then you would be way off base. I've hardly been busy, in any sense or meaning you could extrapolate from the word. That's why I've put off updating, that, and I just don't really like you people.

On Thursday, my roommate decided to go home for the weekend so since then, I've been hanging around by myself. Rather than go site seeing, I've mostly been sitting around my dorm building, refusing to spend any money on any of those stupid tourist traps that people always fall for.

Today, I did go on a long walk to find where the two buildings where I would be having classes were located, and all I can say is thank god I consulted a map before I actually left because I would have become incredibly lost. For one, because San Francisco isn't square, god forbid, the roads can't travel at ninety degrees angle, so I walked the same road twice because it hit one road at a sixty degree angle and later again at forty-five degrees.

The second reason, the most important, is because I felt like I passed through several different cities instead of just the one that I was walking through. Market St./Union Square looks like New York City, Sixth Street below Market looks like LA, and Townsend looks like the outskirts of Chicago. It ultimately became confusing.

Oh, by the way, walking underneath of the track that Amtrak travels along and watching a piece of wood fall from the beams above: not a comfortable feeling.

Looking back at old updates, I decided to give up on the quotes of the day because I'm not creative enough to keep that up for a year or so, instead; I'll be serving up several new installments of "applications". That right's applications, fuck you Facebook.

Today's Application:
Transvestite Hunter- Score: 3
(Not nearly as humorous as you think)

San Francisco Chronicles- Day One (Move-In)

On the eve of my first night in my college dorm, I look back over my life and I am suddenly very glad that I am not one of the following: a neat freak, a psycho with bad breath, or a foreigner with little understanding of English. But, I am not glad that I am: not very social, have an odd sense of humor, or am a smoker.

I can only imagine that this is the normal stuff attached with moving in, but I happy to note that my roommate is a lot like myself, and I forsee us having stupid conversations about movies until very late at night.

I've only met a couple of other people in the building, a French guy who is actually from London and a guy Palo Alto so he lives only about an hour away.

Not a whole lot to say about this day, but you'll have to ask me about my 2 day excursion in an SUV across the wide open (ugly) country known as the United States.

Rescue Me - The Complete First Season
By Denis Leary
see related

Is that a banana in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

First off, there will be another a Schauby Super Bowl Sunday this year, making this the fifth one and I hope anyone who wants to come can make it. For those of you who don't remember when the Super Bowl is it's the 4th of Feb. and the Colts are playing the Bears.

Second, my brother, Pete Dogg (That's what it says on the birth cerificate), has come back and we've gotten to hang out some. Right now he's in Des Moines seeing his girlfriend Alicia, and should be back on Super Bowl Sunday.

Thirdly, Pete has introduced me to one of the greatest television shows ever, "Rescue Me:" starring Denis Leary. If you haven't seen it all you need to know is that it is the shit, not pretty much the shit, but is the shit. I've watched the first two seasons, 26 episodes, in the past four days.

Fourth, I went to see Smokin' Aces on Friday and I loved it. Now, I have to say it's not for everyone, Andy and Scott both did not like it but Pete and I did. Actually, I loved it so much I went to see it again on Monday afternoon and if I can scrounge up the money from somewhere I might go see it a third time. If anybody is interested go ahead and give me a holla'.

Fifth, my car is the epitomy of crappiness. Apparently, there is something called wheel balance on a car, whatever that is, and it makes the car wobble back and forth when the car gets about fifty-five miles an hour. And, I had to drive to Muscatine in this piece of shit so Pete could pick up his new truck.

Sixth, uh.............I'm not really sure if I have anything more to say. Oh, wait I know.

Seventh, THE RETURN OF THE AWKWARD O-METER: Overhearing Pete on the phone with his girlfriend after she left and her explaining that if she wasn't sleeping with him she would be sleeping with me. 9 out 10.

Eighth, I hope the Awkward O-meter never reaches a 10 out of 10 someday because if that day ever came then I might just kill myself.

Ninth, I have to watch a three hour silent movie for a film class I'm taking from Scott. Luckily it's on Google Video or I never would have found it, but the thing is, it's so God Damn boring that I fell asleep about three and half minutes. This is gonna be a long three hours.

Tenth, ANOTHER AWKWARD O-METER MOMENT: My mother telling me that she wished we lived in a country where there were arranged marriages because she already had somebody picked out for me but she wouldn't tell me who. 10 out 10.

Eleventh, Shit. Well, excuse me. I'm gonna have to go kill myself. I just leave you with the quotes of the day.

"I seen this movie, the black dude dies first. You snag it."

-"I'm gonna down."

-"I bet you are."

On the First Day of Rehab My True Love Gave To Me

Oh xanga entry,

Oh xanga entry,

How long has it been since I have posted.

(That was the to the tune of Oh Christmas Tree, if you couldn't tell)

Anyway, moving on.....

First of, some of my sister's friends were leaving last night and happened to discover a kitten on our doorstep. Rather than put it out into the cold, my parents took it inside. That wouldn't be so bad, except, we found another kitten hanging around this afternoon. So now we have two cute, fuzzy, annoying kittens hanging around the house.

Two, last night I hung out with homies: Sean and Cory, which is always a good time. We first went to the mall so Cory could get his Starbucks fix (we also read "Would You Rather"), then we proceeded to one of the greatest eateries ever conceived by man, Taco Bell, and then we rented Beerfest and watched that at my house. For anyone that hasn't seen Beerfest it's offensive, hilarious, and makes you want to drink beer like water.

Three, uh...........where was I?.............Oh right. Three, CoffeeHouse is coming up on the 15th of December which should be a joy for all. Sean, Cory, Ben, and I will performing a skit again after the hilarity that ensued last year when we performed. Mr Williams is also playing and singing again which should BA. So, if you can make it, you should come to CoffeeHouse because I'm almost certain that it will be a fun time had by all.

Four, is there a four?.....................

Five, after writing the newest thing for CoffeeHouse and starting on my newest full length project (play) I'm as burnt-out as the writers for The Simpsons. (Zing? Not really) But I promise it will come back and these entries will be funny again some day in the future.

Six, uh..........Muppet Christmas Carol is the bitchenest Christmas movie ever. No matter who you are, because, come on, it's the fucking Muppets man. If you don't like the Muppets, you're a lost cause and I'm sorry to have ever spoken to one of you.

Seven, it happened, I finally broke. I'm not an emotional guy and I rarely cry at movies. (Just as about the Ladder 49 story) The last time I cried at a movie was Braveheart.......when I was six. But the other day, while watching United 93 I broke down and cried. It's fucking intense and scary for one, not to mention all the tension and emotions that are elated.

Now finally, you now the final folks come on.....Sing with me...

On the first day of rehab my true love gave to me a brick full of cocaine....

Okay maybe it doesn't quite fit, instead I'll leave you with several quotes of the day, to make up for my absence:

"He's got the eye of the Jew! He's our finisher, trust me!"

"I hate Catholic countries, it's all flirty, flrity no sucky, fucky."

"Mr. Barris, I can teach you thirteen different ways to kill a man with just your hands.....Don't you think that would come in handy for your next bar room brawl?"

"What would Joe do if he were here?..........He would shoot everybody and smoke cigarettes........Well, I don't have cigarettes."

"I'd like to send a shout out to Ray-Ray in the suburds. Keep it real dogg."
